Why Should Christians Support Israel?
This post is not religious. It is a very real fact of life. God promises many blessings to those who support the Jewish people. Here are just two of many guarantees: God promises to bless those who bless Israel. (Gen 12:3) Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. (Psalm 122:6) We are all family by adoption. Jewish people don't need Christianity to explain there existence, but we need Judaism to explain ours. Without Jesus, a JEW, we would have never been able to be saved and would have not been recognized in God's eyes. We both pray to the same God-the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Christians were grafted in at the cross. That means ALL Jews are family. Many Christians feel that the idea of God and salvation started in the New Testament, and as a result, deny the Jewish people. After Jesus came, many believe in replacement theology; now that there is Christianity, they feel, there is now no more need for the Old Testament as we are not under the 'old law'. They are very wrong and are being taught wrong. The Bible starts at Genesis 1:1, NOT Matthew 1:1. In Genesis, God gave the Jewish people the deed to Israel. He created Heaven and Eart. It was His to give to whomever He pleased. He chose the Jewish people. That land is theirs and no one else's. That is why I support the Jewish people and love them. After the Holocaust, many Christians are ashamed-and SHOULD be! I do everything I can to support Israel and her people-God's people. I would absolutely hide every Jew I could if God-forbid that ever happened again. Yes, Gentiles hate to hear Jews are God's 'chosen people', because they feel second rate in a way. But that is just the way it is, and the reason why Christ came to save us. My family and I just came from 'A Night To Honor Israel' in San Antonio, Texas. I missed the one in Washington, DC. We stand united with them and also say-NEVER AGAIN. We celebrated Israel and the Feast Of Tabernacles, too. It was in October. We support the orphanages that are taking the abandoned and orphaned children in to Israel whose parents had to leave them or got killed when they were forced out of their homes. We, as a whole, donate regularly. We also help bring the Holocaust survivors and all exiles back to their home of Israel. Here is a comment from my friend, who is a Jew: "My grandparents are holocaust survivors from Poland...and suffered hell. My grandmother is now very old and thinks that she is in her twenties and just lives her past all over again. She is hiding from the Nazi soldiers all the time and her passport is under her pillow....it's a nightmare for her and for all of us. She is not "here'...she does not understand logic. She is in a time tunnel living only in the past. It warms the heart to know how you feel and what you do." My response:
That is terrible. Please let her know that people have changed. Many people. Here is a site of the founder of Migdal Ohr (an orphanage) and Exodus 2 (bringing the Jews from all over the world back to Israel. jhm.org. Maybe this will give her a little peace. |
