Skin Detox/Microdermabrasion

By Kellie Peterson

Do you just want to pamper your skin? Do you have age spots and want to lighten them? Do you want to draw out all the impurities in your skin and moisturize it? Look no further. Make your own! This skin treatment is perfect for all skin types! It is also unscented and vegan. Directions and ingredients are at the very bottom of this post.

This will not interfere with your mineral makeup use. In fact, it will cleanse and tone your pores and leaves a fresh, clean canvas to create an even more beautiful you! This is also perfect for men.

So what is it?

Dermabrasion Crystals are 99.6% pure, white, aluminum oxide crystals used for all types of exfoliation applications. These particular crystals are larger in particle size, so that is why you feel the grittiness.

You can create a facial mask by blending the crystals with other skin-loving ingredients into a whipped cream using:

Aloe and shea butters, avocado, olive and grapeseed oils, and 100% pure, cosmetic clays, along with the microdermabrasion crystals.

The first cosmetic clay used was PURE Rhassoul Clay. Rhassoul is a mineral-rich clay. It is a truly exquisite Spa quality clay from ancient deposits unearthed from the fertile Atlas Mountains of Morocco.

Rhassoul is high in Silica, Magnesium, Iron, Calcium, Potassium and Sodium content, making it one of the finest treasures for the pampering of your skin.

The best Spas across the globe utilize the toning and enriching benefits offered by Rhassoul and now it's just as easy to enjoy this splendor within your own home!

The second clay I used was PURE Fullers Earth clay. A sedimentary clay that has been widely used as a skin-lightening agent and is best known for its ability to be applied as a "facial bleach".

Because of its enormous drawing capabilities, Fuller's Earth is the number one choice for oily skin and those prone to acne. It literally draws oil from the skin.

You apply it like a mask, and rub GENTLY in a circular motion. Leave it on your skin for 15 minutes, then rinse your skin with tepid water.

Always do a skin patch test first. I have ultra-sensitive skin and have worn it for 45 minutes, and had no skin reaction. Test yourselves first, and take the necessary precautions.

These spa treatment creams can run $50 - $150 and up in department stores and salons.

Suggestion: Keep it in the refrigerator for a refreshing experience. It also makes your product last longer. Store it in a cool, dry place.

Measurements:

8 ounces each of Shea and Aloe Butter
1/2 cup each of avocado oil, grapeseed oil, and olive oil.
1 cup Rhassoul Clay
1 cup Fuller's Earth Clay
1 cup of dermabrasion crystals

Step 1 - Blend all butters and oils together.
Step 2 - Slowly add in clays and crystals.
Step 3 - Whip for three minutes, then transfer to jars.

Shelf life is one year.
