How To Make Smelly Jelly
What is Smelly Jelly? It is an air freshener that can be placed anywhere a candle cannot be burned. It is made of water crystals, fragrance, food coloring and distilled water. Water crystals look like dead sea salt and are non-toxic. They are able to hold 400 times their weight in water. Many people use water crystals when gardening. It keeps the plants hydrated right at the root. Here are just some of the many places you can put them: Bathroom By cat litter box Car Closet Bedroom Here is what you will need: 8 ounce mason jar Daisy lid (a screw on lid that has a floral design opening on the lid) 6 ounces distilled water 1 teaspoon water crystals Food coloring 1 tablespoon fragrance oil in your choice of scent In a separate bowl, mix all of the ingredients together and let it sit for one hour. This will give the crystals a chance to absorb the liquid. You are now ready to fill your mason jar and screw your daisy lid on. You can add a piece of mesh or fabric over the top for an added design, but you don't really need to. After several weeks, when you notice the crystals shrinking, add more water to the mason jar and the crystals will expand again without diluting the fragrance at all. Yes, the scent will be just as strong! There is no need to stir the mixture, but you can if you'd like. As far as choosing a fragrance oil, that is up to you. Some people are into aromatherapy, which is another intel post in itself. Have fun!
